Randy says: The pasta was sweet and tomatoey with cheese inside. Overall unimpressive.

Jeff says: The lasagna was made with a sweet cream sauce which I found unusual but pleasing. The salad included with the meals was mostly iceberg but had a pleasant vinaigrette dressing. The meals came with coffee but we got hot tea instead.

Randy says: As is common in Sweden if you order hot tea, certain varieties are offered as bags from a selection you root through on the counter, but better varieties are available as loose tea measured from a jar. Even so, they don't seem to understand the nature of tea as we were given about 24 ounces of hot water for 2 grams of tea. When I tasted Jeff's lasagna all I could say was "God that's sweet."

Entering Ritorno you order at the counter, and beyond that is a large dining area. The dining area was very smoky on the rainy day we stopped by coming back from the Jewish Museum, but luckily there was a dry sunny spell so we chose to eat at one of outside tables along the street. The Mom and Pop were very nice to try to accommodate us in English and we got a quick lunch out of it (which was our goal), but the food was just passable. Perhaps Ritorno does better as a konditori (coffee and pastry shop) — the goodies in the pastry case looked tempting.
