Randy had: Beef Balti (beef marinated in garlic, green chili in a spicy red wine sauce with red peppers, onions, ginger).
Jeff had: Beef Mother India Special (beef stew in a spicy cream sauce with nuts).
We shared: Keema Naan (bread with "minced meat" [the Swedish description reveals lamb] filling).

Jeff says: I liked the beef balti, too. The sauce on the beef Mother India special was very good but the beef was very tough. I don't remember there being nuts, as described on the menu.
Randy says: I don't remember there being nuts in the beef Mother India special, either. I liked the beef balti better. I thought the keema naan was greasy, but I liked it.
Jeff says: I liked the keema naan. The lamb was good.
We wandered around Gothenberg for a while looking for a place to eat. We saw Mother India and thought we'd give it a try. It seemed to be a family-run business with at least 3 generations of the Indian family in attendance our server, her father, and her small daughter. Our server was accommodating and friendly. It was our last night in Sweden and we didn't have kronor left. The restaurant doesn't take credit cards, but Randy asked our server if she'd take U.S. dollars and she agreed. She talked and joked with us the entire evening. There were few customers, none smoking. Randy asked if it was non smoking and was asked in reply, "do you want to smoke?" so we think it's "whatever you want". The menu is printed in Swedish and English.
We wanted our food just a little spicy but not much. To accomplish this the server asked if we wanted Swedish, Madras, or Vindaloo. We went with Madras, which she said would be about a 5 on an 1-10 scale. We braced for that to be too spicy for us, but if anything it was a little milder than we're used to. She told us it was "Swedish Madras" level. The meals included rice. While not the best Indian food we've ever had, we enjoyed a pleasant dinner and a nice way to end our visit in Sweden.
