Excellent
Randy says: The sandwiches are available on La Brea Bakery olive oil and rosemary bread, which really makes the sandwiches. Also good rare roast beef is hard to find, and at Greenblatt's it's always fresh. The kreplach soup is good. Since the sandwiches are big, I like to have the soup and half sandwich special.

Jeff says: All I can say is Greenblatt's has the best corned beef anywhere, and their sandwiches aren't small. I also enjoy the La Brea bakery bread, so I always have a corned beef sandwich. The iced tea is good, too.

We first went to Greenblatt's because it's right across the street from the Director's Guild, where we screen films at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival every year. We keep going back to Greenblatt's because it's so good.

The tables are upstairs, where the front section looks out on a pair of huge stained glass windows. Photographs of the Sunset/Laurel Canyon area in its years of early development cover the walls. The service is always good, and the menu is extensive although we stick with our favorites. Open until 2 a.m., we can't think of anything that could use improvement at this Sunset Strip landmark.
