Excellent

Randy says: We noticed this place when we went into the grocery store in the same center on our first day. It looked interesting, so we tried to go for lunch the next day, but they don't open until 4:00. We went one day after the beach. We were starving, it was already close to 7:00 and didn't want to take the time to stop at the hotel and change (I'd have wanted to shower first anyway) so we went directly there. I was still in my bathing suit, and felt rather self-conscious since it was the skimpier one (the one Jeff says is too skimpy). They staff were very nice and if they thought I was under-dressed never showed any hint of it. I may have been unusually aware of what I was wearing, but it didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying an excellent dinner.

We tried a few dishes, all delicious and some inventive. (A few we didn't try seemed puzzling, such as the nachos, which sound boring but apparently won awards for the chef.) The duck quesadilla is a tasty flour tortilla surrounding gooey melted cheese and chunks of moist duck meat. It comes with four sauces: a creamy and chunky avocado; a sweet cilantro that thankfully is creamy and flavorful, not sweet; a competent pico de gallo; and a honey sour cream that is very nice.

The crab cake is made with chunks of moist crab meat, and you can really taste the cumin.

The Togarashi Seared Ahi is an artfully arranged stack with sashimi grade ahi topping mixed upcountry greens, grilled vegetables with a tomato-caper salsa, dollop of basil buerre blanc, and balsamic syrup drizzling the plate.

Nicely combined ingredients and well executed.

The House Salad contains organic Kula baby greens, tomatoes, red onion, carrots, and cucumbers tossed in a delicious homemade cilantro citrus vinaigrette. There are mildly spicy macadamia nuts mixed in. It quite large and so is great to split.

Steven says: This place is great. A surprisingly good restaurant in a run-of-the-mill shopping center.
